A subdomain is a website address, which is under a main, or a root domain. One example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own website and records i.e. aside from employing the domain name as a part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be fully independent and even hosted by a separate company. Using a subdomain could be very handy if you wish to have different websites which are associated in some way. For example, you may have a web-based store under the main domain and a forum under a subdomain in order to provide means for your customers to ask questions and / or share experiences about your products. The advantage of using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the websites are going to be separated, so you're able to update one of them or perform maintenance without affecting the other.

Subdomains in Cloud Website Hosting

Our cloud website hosting plans will enable you to create countless subdomains for any domain name hosted in your account without any difficulty. Provided that the main domain address is added, it requires 2 mouse clicks to set up a subdomain and pick what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and control. By right-clicking on any of them and by using fast access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that particular subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total amount of subdomains that you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.
